“史▪观——何杰个展,异化——郑宏祥个展”将于5 月 7日于艺▪凯旋艺术空间开幕,此次双个展将展出艺术家何杰和郑宏祥近年新作品共计34幅,此次展览将持续到 6月 12日。

社会建筑于附着于权力的钟摆,权力以毛细血管式自上而下渗透于日常生活的方方面面而建构起一套有机的组织形式,所有人不言自明的朝着那个方向前进。何杰的作品以集体主义现象或者权威艺术品的再现作为绘画的内容,以图像的方式为观者呈现了一种“权力的媚态”。高位的建筑和艺术品消解了人与人之间的距离,以整体性浪漫的想象遮蔽了某种个体自觉的可能性。同时何杰作品以高灰色调附着于内容形式之上,在作品内容和观者间立了一面“不透光的墙”,拉开了观者和画面的距离,模糊了表达的内容,其目的通过反思突破某种现象的虚构而回馈到自身真实的感觉,重现拾起一种人性的本质内容。

而郑宏祥作为80后艺术家,既没有前辈级艺术家在翻天地覆的社会变动中反思所带来的强烈感受,也没有90后那种彻底的打开。面对周遭的各种声音,其创作历程也是一种逐步落地于现实实在的过程。当下时说当下事,以一种真实的感受和冷静理性的思考,逐步建构起一把个体精确的美学价值标尺。其创作对纯粹图像的解构和重组,试图通过对视觉表达语言的突破,以方法论切入到一个艺术本体的某个面上,来阐释自己对绘画的理解和感受。

Opening on May 7, 2016 at Triumph Art Space, “Historic Landscape — Solo Exhibition of He Jie & Dissimilation — Solo Exhibition of Zheng Hongxiang” will continue until June 12, featuring 34 new works by He Jie and Zheng Hongxiang.

Social architecture adheres to the pendulum of power. Power, like blood capillary, infiltrates top down into every aspect of daily life and constructs a set of organic organizational form, toward which all men move self-explanatorily. He Jie reproduces the phenomenon of collectivism or authority artworks, showing audiences “the coquetry of power” with images. High-rise buildings and artworks bridge the gap between people but restrict the possibility of self-consciousness with romantic imaginations in a holistic way. His works are shaded with gray, as if there were a light-tight wall erected in front of the audiences which pushes them away from the artwork and makes what the artist wants to express obscurer. Upon profound reflection, audiences may be able to see through the fabrication and come back to their true feelings. The artworks’ aim in representing the rediscovery of human nature can thus be realized.

All kinds of voices reverberating in his surroundings, Zheng Hongxiang, as a younger-generation artist born in the 1980s, gradually develops in his mind an aesthetic value scale measuring each individual artwork accurately with true feelings and rational contemplation, and promotes his own artistic creation with the help of the scale. Similarly, the process of Zheng’s creation also goes from imagination to actual realities step by step. He adopts several techniques of expression, including juxtaposition, repetition, shifting and subjective conjecture, to destruct and reorganize his drawings and then construct a juxtaposition of various visual elements. The juxtaposed elements, in this way, share a delicate relationship, as methodologically manifested in the noumenon of the artwork. In this path of “dissimilation”, Zheng’s artworks are a full expression of his understanding and feelings of drawing and guide audiences into a pure world of art.
