Zeng Jianyong
Zeng Jianyong was born in Chenghai, Guangdong in 1971, and currently lives and works in Beijing. His early works were mainly portraits of children, with emphasis on reification of spiritual and cultural contexts and speculation over various metaphors and social semiotics. Followed the aesthetic rule based on traditional Chinese ink painting and Calligraphy to observe and represent nature, in recent years, Zeng Jianyong's work have changed from surrealistic depiction of nature to explore more comprehensive "theatrical scene painting". Without the limitations of specific subjects matters and themes, Zeng Jianyong went back to the study the ontology, exploring the possibility of unfolding Chinese ink painting in space.
